Don’t take our word for it:

The way Allen explains the purpose behind the action repositions the practice of meditation from “that’s weird” to “why aren’t they teaching this in schools?”. He adds personal stories that show his vulnerability. His stories make me feel normal and combat doubt about my abilities. Allen cares.

This class gives you the foundation for many different types of meditation and Allen explains each so well. You get enough info and practice to then experiment with yourself to see what works for you.

Wonderful ability to convey the meaning and practice of mindfulness. Gives everyone the feeling he is speaking to you. He cares about his students being able to benefit and enhance their lives with this practice.

I have been a nonchalant meditator at best and have truly loved the opportunity to sit with Beth, listening to her wise words guiding us through various practices. I find the technique of relaxing the body so helpful and a meaningful companion to my yoga practice. I love the stories Beth shares to illuminate the meditations and the care and thoughtful consideration she takes with people’s questions after the sit. But the practice of compassionate touch, in the absence of actual hugs, has been for me, the most profound. A simple invitation to place a hand on the heart, to stroke one’s own arm or gently grasp one’s own thumb- what a gift! In learning to care for myself in this way, I have quieted my fears and soothed my loneliness. I feel such immense gratitude to Beth and the loving community who comes together.

I really enjoyed the workshop from what it brought to my life. It was aptly timed, as I needed to learn a way to handle stress from work/life (even before Covid-19). After having gone through both sessions, I feel that everyone I know should participate in a mindfulness workshop and adopt a meditation practice.

Dear Beth, I’ve been so enjoying your online zoom sessions the past month. I live on Kodiak Island, Alaska and it is such a treat to have zoom access and be part of a meditation group from thousands of miles and one time zone away. I work as a physical therapist and utilize mindfulness with treatment of chronic pain, so I’ve particularly enjoyed your recent on connecting with the body and the wonderful descriptors you use; the imagery stays with me throughout my day at work as well as at home with my family. InsightLA and the zoom sessions have been a source of solace, strength, peace during these recent months. I”m grateful for you zooming in so early on weekday mornings and being with all of us in the virtual platform. Your kind presence and guided meditations are the most lovely start to my day!

It was a great class laying out the foundations of the mindfulness practice. I loved learning about the different layers and uses for mindfulness, then using that information directly in guided meditations every class. I believe meditation and mindfulness is important for every person and I would recommend this class and Allen Weiss to everyone.

There are things I’ve been working on for years – worrying, taking things personally, stressing out. The class resolved all of those for me in just 5 weeks. The tools are easy to remember how to use. The class was engaging and interesting- it was what I looked forward to each week.

It was a well structured short and easily fit into my schedule. Became the best part of my week & I loved how each subsequent class built upon things we had learned in the previous class. I recommended it to all of my friends and family.

The presentation was excellent. Your responses to questions were great and the material was presented at a comfortable pace. The graphics added a great deal to the overall effect.

Even in 5 weeks, I felt a difference. It is a topic I had read a bit about, but not truly experienced the practice of meditation. I feel like I can work on to create a sense of centeredness and peace in an otherwise hectic daily life. Thank you so much opening this door in a very practical way!

It was such an amazing and enlightening experience for myself. I was able to continuously build from each week to unearth deeper insights into my emotions, feelings, and the world around me. As someone who typically has a hard time expressing these types of things to anyone, I have been able to recognize and label and emote more clearly than ever before. It has made an impact in my work, relationships and just overall emotional state.

Before this course I was using the Headspace app to try and develop a meditation practice. It’s been a great resource to get started but I love the depth that you provide in your class. Also, I feel that you’ve really helped me better manage my expectations regarding a meditation practice.

It’s very well presented and taught. There’s plenty of practice, opportunities to ask questions, and a weekly follow-up email which summarizes the main points covered for the week’s lesson.

This was a great introduction to mindfulness. I have tried meditations in the past without feeling much success, but Allen was fantastic at making everyone understand that this is a constant practice, and to be gentle with yourself.

Thank you!!! What a fantastic course – so appreciative for your time, energy, and thoughtfulness.

Loved every session – I’ve been meditating for years, but you broke everything down so simply and made it a pleasure to walk the path with you.

Well organized, engaging, explain clearly, your gentleness comes through the screen. Enjoyed your stories from life experiences.

Added to my knowledge and experience and practice of mindfulness and meditation. I particularly like the “loving kindness” model; I had not been exposed to this before. Your calm voice and kind, thoughtful presentation was very welcoming; this added to the learning process. Thank you!

I already meditate daily but I found Allen’s instruction a great way to delve deeper and explore some other ways to be more mindful. I also liked the group setting and chat which showed me how many experiences are the same but some are different – something doing a solitary practice doesn’t provide.

Although I have learned about and practiced meditation in past classes, this course focused on the actual practice of meditation; that immersion truly helped. I found myself actually using what I learned from this course in my everyday life, which can’t be said about most classes in general. I have already been telling loved ones about the program and app because it’s so rewarding and life-changing.

I enjoyed Allen’s class very much. The mediation exercises were very relaxing and calming. His talks were informative and applicable outside of the class.

This mindfulness workshop was a transformative, educational, and cathartic experience. The clarity in explaining the approach to mindfulness was very helpful for first time students to this practice. This will continue to be a lifelong practice/journey for me as this workshop truly ignited my desire to do so.

I cannot express how much you’re class has helped me. My dad has suddenly become Ill (not covid) and is in home hospice. I’ve been dealing with devastating sorrow but I went through last week’s session and focused on that feeling of sorrow. I didn’t understand how that would help, but a few hours later I was filled with joy. I realized that sorrow was a gift of joy. Allen, I cannot thank you enough for what you have given me.

I appreciated the follow-up emails reviewing the class discussion. You offer the environment conducive to mindfulness. You exude calmness. Your voice is nurturing. You are compassionate and risked being vulnerable with us (sharing your stories of imperfection). You are knowledgeable with years of personal growth and practice. No fault of your own, the experience would have been even better in person, not virtual. Yet grateful for the opportunity to take this journey with you.

A rare combination of course materials, guided meditation, and genuine authenticity of the instructor made this a perfect course! I learned, I deepened my practice, and I received a lot from being part of a community in this space (which has been difficult to find.)

Thank you so much for the past 5 weeks! It’s been very helpful and hopeful for me and my anxiety.

This class was really hard, but in the best way – it really helped me recognize that I have the ability to acknowledge things without engaging or judging them, and it’s the first time I’ve tried to be kind with my own emotion rollercoaster. I’ve been talking about this course with my colleagues each week, and they want to participate.

Allen is a wonderful teacher. I’ve attended many mindfulness classes and workshops, worked with several apps and websites, and even attended a retreat. Allen is among the best of the teachers I’ve seen. Very humble, very clear, non-judgmental. And although it was a beginning class, I heard some concepts in new ways that are very helpful.

This was such a great class and experience. So accessible and really very helpful. Allen has a very easy, clear way of presenting things. Just terrific. I’m so happy I signed up for this class. Far exceeded my expectations.

Beyond being a great learning experience and having a great teacher, I just found the class itself to be incredibly calming and informative at the same time, and without many of the stresses that come with your more typical types of classes. Sometimes you’re not sure if you will take the lessons of a class with you, especially once it is over, but this is a case where the lessons learned will accompany for the rest of my life, which is nice.

The presentation was excellent. Your responses to questions were great and the material was presented at a comfortable pace. The graphics added a great deal to the overall effect. The reason I gave it a 9 rather than a 10 was due to the problems I had with Zoom.

It’s been a month since the retreat and I’m continuing to feel very grateful. I especially appreciate the conversations we had and the love I felt from you. I have let go of issues I’ve been holding on to for years and you were integral in that process. Thank you again for everything.

Thank you so much for today’s very healing class. I came out of it feeling like a heavy weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I know everything is impermanent and upsetting emotions will likely return, but I have the strength to get through this. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this community and to have met some people who have become good friends.

What a good class today! I am so affected by your talk, our practice, our small group and your giddy good humor! Made me think/feel differently. I can’t say much more right now, but I feel a poem coming on…and I certainly don’t call myself a poet!

Thanks Allen, this has been really wonderful. I have tried for years to create a daily meditation classes. The way you’ve brought us into meditation has been wonderful, very relatable. I have the beginnings of a daily practice and I’m very thankful.

I liked the openness, lack of BS, the relaxed attitude and generosity of the teacher.

The workshop provided an excellent overview of mindfulness practices, tools, etc.. Allen’s presentations were very interesting and easy to follow. Very useful and helpful!
