The Business Case for Mindfulness
Calculate the health care costs savings (and litigation savings) to your company if your employees had the mental and emotional skills to:
reduce their stress (less burnout and turnover)
increase their resilience and emotional intelligence,
increase their ability to focus
act in a more civil manner to other employees and management?
In short, your employees learn how to deal with difficult thinking and emotions that get in the way of being their best.
Reaping these benefits of mindfulness requires well trained and highly skilled teachers.
How Mindfulness Reduces Stress
Mindfulness fosters new ways of coping. Mindfulness helps people see that they have choices about how to respond (mentally, emotionally, physically) to adversities. It fosters compassion for oneself, for loved ones, and the world at large. And, it fosters creativity and enhances decision making quality. Significant scientific research demonstrates the positive impact of mindfulness in creating calm and inner peace, building resilience, enhancing cognitive functioning, and buttressing one’s immune system.
Mindfulness reduces stress and fosters thriving under conditions of adversity.
The Value of Skilled Mindfulness Teachers
Some companies use mindfulness apps to help employees reduce stress. While such apps can help (they are more like training wheels), they are no substitute for customized programs taught by skilled mindfulness practitioners.
Skilled teachers engage students, provide feedback, answer questions, offer solutions to meditation challenges, facilitate personal insights, and show people that they are not alone in how they typically react to life challenges.
Skilled teachers also help people use mindfulness practices in daily life. In this way, people can apply the insights they have learned in the real world.
Indeed, our business model counts success when people are free from a meditation app.
Highly skilled teachers can bridge into other initiatives where self-insight is important.
Mindfulness Supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Efforts
Beyond fostering increased thriving and reduced stress, our unique to mindfulness training will complement your diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. We ask people to examine their implicit biases and consider the judgments people often make about themselves and others. We teach loving kindness, breaking down barriers, how we often tell stories about people and events in the absence of evidence, and much more. With a relaxed mind, participants are able to discuss these challenging topics and look inward. If you’re not sure that a program where people look inward helps with DEI, you might

Getting all of the benefits of mindfulness doesn’t have to be hard.
More than Meditation
While mindfulness requires meditation, since this is the method for changing ingrained habits, we teach meditation gradually. People start with a very short meditation, which includes listening and walking and, if they want,
increasing this over time. However, our workshops spend time on self-reflection and personal insights. Participants look forward to the weekly workshops because they get to interact with other people and talk about their
emotional and mental life. They find the workshops fun because we show videos and images to support what we teach.
